Dr. Corinne McCabe has been in education since 2005. Throughout her career, she has taught multiple grade levels, supported teachers and students through her instructional coaching position, and served the students, families, and staff as Assistant Principal of Roy DeShane. She continues to be thrilled to partner with the families of Carol Stream School as Principal.
Corinne holds a Master of Educational Leadership from DePaul University, a Master of Science in Special Education-High Incidence from the University of Kansas. She is a Doctor of Educational Technology (Central Michigan University). Additionally, Corinne obtained her certification in Applied Educational Neuroscience through Butler University. Dr. McCabe has also worked at the university level as an adjunct professor, teaching both graduate and undergraduate students in the field of education.
On a more personal note, Dr. McCabe resides in St. Charles and comes from a family of teachers. She enjoys being active, running, and playing softball as much as she can. You may even find her playing kickball, basketball, or swinging on the playground with students at recess!
Dr. McCabe is passionate about the importance of education in our society and is devoted to the field. She is looking forward to working with the staff, students, and families to ensure the success of all students at Carol Stream School.
Matthew Carlson serves as Assistant Principal at Carol Stream Elementary School, where he is committed to partnering with students, families, teachers, and staff to foster an environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and a strong sense of community.
Mr. Carlson resides in Carpentersville with his wife, Catherine, their children, Amelia and Crew, and their dog, Ziggy. With extensive experience in education, primarily focused on Special Education, Curriculum Development, Case Management, and Student-Centered Instruction, he brings a passion for learning and a dedication to empowering both students and educators.
He believes that education is multifaceted and extends beyond academics to helping every student reach their fullest potential. With this philosophy in mind, Mr. Carlson works to ensure that all students have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Mr. Carlson values strong partnerships with families and believes open communication is essential to student success. He is committed to maintaining transparent, collaborative relationships and welcomes questions, ideas, and feedback from members of the school community.
